Aberdare Hills Golf Resort makes the Best of El Nino Rains

The last months of 2015 marked a time when Kenya experienced heavy downpours and flooding leading to destruction of property and even loss of lives. Other parts of the country and especially the semi arid areas were left grinning green with life. Well, isn't  that what El Nino is all about, a curse to some and a blessing to others?

Some, like the Aberdare Hills Golf Resort, decided to make the best of the rains by applying water harvesting measures. Since the resort is located on the footage of Aberdare Hills and has natural gorges running through the property.

The rains which lasted for about one and a half months, filled to capacity two dams which were under construction then i.e Kangari and Mahindu dams of which they command 1 million cubic liters and 1.2million cubic liters respectively.

The dams will not only add beauty and challenge to the golfers but will also  be a water sports related activity.
